Your subscriptions are your business.
Orbit keeps your subscriptions on your iPhone. I don't run servers that receive your data, I don't use analytics or advertising, and I don't track you. This page explains what that means, line by line.
Last updated · Applies to Orbit 1.0 and later
- The subscriptions you add, their reminders, your cancellation history and your settings are stored on your iPhone only.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no crash-reporting service, and no server of mine that receives your data.
- Signing in is optional. Apple or Google tell Orbit your name and email, and Orbit keeps them on your iPhone.
- Bank statements and Fio data are read on your iPhone and not kept. Only the subscriptions you choose to add are saved.
- Delete Orbit, or use Delete all data, and everything is gone.
Who is responsible
Orbit is made by Daria Zabiiaka, trading as Make It Crazy, in the Czech Republic (“I”, “me”, “Make It Crazy”). You can reach me at support.orbit@makeitcrazy.com.
What Orbit stores, and where
The subscriptions you add, their reminders, your cancellation history and your settings are stored on your iPhone only. They are protected by iOS and, if you turn it on, by Orbit's app lock. If you use an Orbit passcode, it is kept only as a salted hash in the Keychain of this iPhone; Face ID, Touch ID and your device passcode are handled by iOS and never reach Orbit.
Deleting Orbit, or Settings › Your data › Delete all data, removes all of it. Exports (CSV, Excel, PDF) are made on your iPhone when you ask for one, and are never uploaded.
Orbit has no advertising, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no third-party code libraries, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.
Signing in
Signing in is optional. Orbit works fully without an account, with sample data or your own.
If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, Orbit receives your name, your email and, with Google, your profile picture from Apple or Google, and keeps them on your iPhone to show your profile and to sign cancellation letters with your name. I don't receive them. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies apply to the sign-in.
Importing a bank statement (Orbit Pro)
When you open a statement file in Orbit (PDF or CSV), it is read on your iPhone to find repeating payments. A scanned PDF is read with Apple's on-device text recognition. The file isn't uploaded or kept. Only the subscriptions you choose to add are saved.
Fio sync (Orbit Pro)
If you add a Fio banka read-only token, it is stored in your iPhone's Keychain (this device only). Your iPhone uses it to ask Fio banka directly for your account's payments. The payments are checked for subscriptions on your iPhone and are not kept. I never see the token or your payments.
To revoke it, remove the token in Orbit (Import › Fio banka › Disconnect) and delete it in Fio internet banking.
Exchange rates
Orbit downloads the Czech National Bank's daily exchange rates. No personal data is sent with that request.
Purchases
Orbit Pro is bought through Apple, and I don't receive your payment details. Orbit asks the App Store, on your device, whether you have Pro. I don't receive your Apple ID, name or card, and I don't keep a list of who has bought Pro. Subscription terms are on the terms page, and you manage or cancel Pro through Apple (see support).
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone by iOS, not sent through a server. You choose how much they show (Settings › Reminders › Notification previews), and you can switch them off in iOS Settings at any time.
Support
If you email me, I use your message only to answer it, and delete it when it's done. Orbit can add your app version, iOS version and device model to the email; you see them before you send it, and you can delete them.
What leaves your iPhone, and to whom
I don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to data brokers. No server of mine is contacted by the app. This is everything that goes elsewhere, and why:
| What | Goes to | Why | Do I receive it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign in with Apple | Apple | Sign-in | No, it stays on your iPhone |
| Sign in with Google | Google (accounts.google.com) | Sign-in | No, Orbit reads your name, email and photo on your iPhone |
| Your Fio token and the request for your payments (Orbit Pro) | Fio banka (fioapi.fio.cz) | Fio sync | No, your iPhone talks to your own bank |
| A request for the day's exchange rates (nothing personal) | Czech National Bank (cnb.cz) | Currency conversion | No |
| A support email you write | My mailbox, through your Mail app | Support | Only if you send it yourself |
| Purchases | Apple (StoreKit) | Orbit Pro | No, Apple handles payment |
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy. Orbit talks to them over encrypted connections (HTTPS) only.
Deleting your data
Everything is on your iPhone and in your control:
- Settings › Profile › Delete profile and data deletes your profile, your subscriptions and your history. This cannot be undone.
- Settings › Your data › Delete all data erases Orbit's data on this iPhone.
- Deleting the app removes it as well.
Deleting your data in Orbit does not cancel anything with the companies behind your subscriptions, and does not cancel Orbit Pro, which is managed through Apple. The support page explains each step, and what to do if you cannot open the app.
Children
Orbit isn't directed at children under 15.
Your rights (GDPR)
As I don't hold your data, there is nothing for me to access, correct or delete. Everything is on your iPhone and in your control, and you can export your subscriptions yourself in Settings › Your data. For any question, write to me at support.orbit@makeitcrazy.com. You can also complain to the Czech data protection authority, the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ, uoou.gov.cz).
Changes to this policy
If Orbit ever starts sending data anywhere (for example bank connections in a later version), this policy will say so before that version is released. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.
