TERMS — THE RULES OF THE GAME

Plain rules, fair play.

These terms cover this website and the apps made by Make It Crazy: Sonda, Orbit and Canis. I have tried to write them so a person can read them in five minutes.

THE SHORT VERSION
  • The apps are for your personal use. Apple's standard licence terms apply to them, with the additions on this page.
  • Sonda and Orbit are helpers, not advisers. Check anything important, such as a key email or a cancel-by date, yourself.
  • Canis is a walking game. Watch where you go, not the screen, and walk only where it is safe and allowed.
  • Orbit Pro is bought and managed through Apple: monthly and yearly plans renew automatically, and a lifetime option is paid once. Details are in Orbit Pro.
  • Test versions (TestFlight) can have bugs and may change; see Test versions (TestFlight).
  • Your rights as a consumer are not affected by anything here.

Who I am

The apps and this website are made by Daria Zabiiaka, trading as Make It Crazy, in the Czech Republic (“I”, “me”). Contact: info@makeitcrazy.com. How I handle your data is in the privacy policies, which are part of these terms.

The apps and Apple's licence

You get the apps through Apple's App Store or TestFlight. Unless an app tells you otherwise, your use of it is covered by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). This page adds to it. Where the two differ on something about a specific app, this page applies to the extent the law and Apple's rules allow.

You may use the apps for yourself and your own household, on Apple devices you own or control, and as the Apple EULA allows. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the apps; I am, as the Apple EULA explains.

Test versions (TestFlight)

Test versions, such as the ones you get through TestFlight, are early versions. They can contain errors, change without notice, lose settings, or stop working, and features may be removed or added before the public release. Do not rely on a testing version for anything you cannot afford to get wrong, and keep your important data, such as your mail with your provider, where it already lives. If you find a problem, I would be glad to hear about it.

Using Sonda

  • Sonda connects to your own Gmail or Outlook account. You are responsible for your accounts and for following your provider's terms.
  • Your mail stays with Google or Microsoft. Sonda is a way of reading and writing it, not a backup, so keep your own backups if you need them.
  • Sorting into Now, Later and Noise is an automatic suggestion made on your device. It can be wrong, and an email you needed can land in Noise. Sonda shows why each email went where it did, and you can move it. Check anything important yourself.
  • Sonda only sends mail you write and send.

Using Orbit

  • Orbit is a tool, not financial or legal advice. Totals, “Worth a look” suggestions, price-rise notices and savings figures are estimates built from what you entered or what your bank returned. They can be wrong or out of date, and exchange rates used for totals are approximate.
  • Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. Your iPhone, your settings, a low battery or a lost notification can stop one from arriving. You remain responsible for cancelling on time and for the notice periods in your own contracts.
  • The cancelling guide shows links, steps and emails that I believe are correct, but companies change their processes. Cancelling takes effect only when the company confirms it, and Orbit can't do it for you. Always check the confirmation, or your next statement.
  • Statement import and Fio sync (Orbit Pro) read a statement file you open, or your own Fio read-only token, on your iPhone, to suggest subscriptions. Suggestions can be wrong or incomplete, so check what Orbit finds before you add it.
  • Companies' names in Orbit's list of services are used only to identify them. Orbit is not affiliated with them.

Orbit Pro (subscription)

Orbit Pro is optional and unlocks Orbit's extra features, as the app describes. You can buy it as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, or once, as a lifetime purchase. The free version stays free, and what is free today stays free.

What you getThe Pro features listed in the app and on the Orbit page. Features marked “Soon” are not part of what you buy today.
PlansMonthly and Yearly are auto-renewing subscriptions. Lifetime is a single payment with no renewal, and it is not a subscription.
PriceShown in the app, in your App Store currency and with any local taxes, before you subscribe. The price you see there is the price you pay.
Free trialThe Yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, if you are eligible. The app tells you so before you subscribe. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to the paid Yearly subscription and your Apple ID account is charged. A trial is offered only once, and any unused part of it is lost if you buy another plan.
PaymentCharged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. Apple handles the payment; I never see your card.
RenewalThe subscription renews automatically for the same length and at the current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (or the end of the trial). Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Lifetime does not renew.
Managing and cancellingIn Apple ID › Subscriptions: on your iPhone, Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
Family SharingOrbit Pro Yearly and Lifetime can be shared with up to five other people in your Family Sharing group. Monthly is for your Apple ID only.
RefundsApple handles refunds, at reportaproblem.apple.com. I can't issue them myself, but I'm happy to help you with the request.
Price changesIf the price goes up, Apple tells you and, where the rules require it, asks for your agreement before you are charged more.
RestoringReinstalled, or on a new iPhone? Open Orbit's Pro screen and tap Restore. Pro follows your Apple ID.
When Pro endsYou go back to the free version. Your subscriptions stay, and Pro-only settings simply stop applying.

Your statutory rights are not affected. If you are a consumer in the European Union, remember that your right to withdraw from a digital purchase is handled by Apple's own terms for in-app purchases.

Using Canis

  • Look up while you walk. Canis keeps counting with the screen off, so you never need to watch it. Cross roads with your eyes on the traffic, follow local rules, choose routes that are safe for you, and respect private land, closed areas and other people. Places shown under the fog are suggestions; you never have to go to any of them.
  • It is a game, not a health or navigation tool. Steps, distance, goals and levels are estimates from your iPhone's sensors, GPS and Apple Health, and can differ from your watch. Canis is not medical advice; if you have a health condition, ask a doctor what is right for you.
  • Maps, place names and weather come from OpenStreetMap (via OpenFreeMap) and Apple. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and a weather tip is a friendly hint, not a forecast to rely on. Check conditions yourself before you go out, especially with a real dog.
  • Your progress lives on your iPhone. Canis has no account or server, so deleting the app or using Delete all data removes your walks, fog and XP for good. Your iPhone's own backups are the only copy.
  • Reminders are a convenience. iOS settings, Focus modes or a low battery can stop one from arriving.

Fair use

Please don't: reverse-engineer, copy or resell the apps beyond what the law allows; use them to break the law or someone else's rights; try to break their security or the services they rely on; or overload or misuse Orbit's bank gateway. I may suspend access to the gateway to protect the service or other people.

Names, content and other companies

The apps, this website, their design, text, icons and the names Make It Crazy, Sonda, Orbit and Canis, and the character Volf, belong to me, apart from third-party material that carries its own licence. The fonts used on this site are open-source fonts under their own licences, included with the site files. Your own mail, subscriptions and notes remain yours; I do not claim any rights in them.

The apps and this site are not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple, Google, Microsoft or the companies named in the sample screens. Gmail, Google, Outlook, Microsoft, iPhone, iPad, iCloud, App Store, TestFlight and similar names are trademarks of their owners. The sample mail, subscriptions and prices in the illustrations are made up.

Responsibility

I try to make the apps careful and dependable, but nothing is perfect. I am responsible for loss caused by my intent or gross negligence, and for anything the law does not allow me to exclude, including your rights as a consumer where you live. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, the apps are offered as they are, and I am not liable for indirect loss or for loss that wasn't a foreseeable result of using them, such as a missed email or a renewal you did not cancel in time because you relied only on a reminder.

Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.

If you are unhappy, please write to info@makeitcrazy.com first, and I will do my best to put it right. If we cannot agree, a consumer in the Czech Republic can ask for out-of-court resolution from the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce). I am not obliged to take part in out-of-court dispute resolution, but I will consider any request seriously.

Changes and ending

I may update these terms as the apps grow. If a change is significant, I will tell you in the app or on this page before it applies, and the date at the top will change. If you do not agree, you can stop using the apps at any time by deleting them. The support page explains how to delete your data and revoke access.

I may stop offering an app or a feature. If I do, I will say so in advance where I can, and will help you ask Apple for a refund for any period of Pro you paid for and can no longer use.
